Course Objective

The objective is to study the language of engineering graphics in order to write it clearly for those familiar with it and read it readily when written by another. To do this, one must know the theory and be familiar with its accepted conventions.

Learning Outcomes

1. Ability to use and understand engineering drawing terminology. 2. Ability to interpret technical drawings following the standard conventions of engineering graphical communication and visualize objects. 3. Ability to communicate ideas in a visual medium, quickly generate multiview and pictorial sketches using Computer Aided Design. 4. Ability to write descriptions and explanations of their designs and models. 5. Ability to use CAD software for generating 2-D multiview and pictorial drawings and 3-D solid model drawings. 6. Ability to make Geometric Constructions. 7. Ability to make Orthographic Projections. 8. Ability to prepare Multiview Drawings 9. Ability to understand theory of projections for Isometric and Oblique Views. 10. Ability to prepare Auxiliary Views. 11. Ability to prepare Sectional Views. 12. Ability to prepare Assembly Drawings.
