Course Objective

1.Discuss the total quality management concept and its application in metallurgical industry. 2.Consider the environmental impacts of processes and materials. 3.Analyze important relationship between engineering, process control, quality and environmental management.

Course Content

Introduction to quality, quality assurance, fundamentals of statistics, control charts for variables, fundamentals of probability, control charts for attributes, reliability, quality costs, product liability.

Learning Outcomes

Students apply the total quality management concept in metallurgical industry by considering the environmental impacts of processes and materials. They also emphasize the relationships between engineering, process control, quality and environmental management.
