Shape Memory Alloys and Titanium Alloy Foams Laboratory

General Information: 

The group is focused on the production, processing and investigation of the relationship between mechanical properties and microstructure of shape memory alloys and porous titanium alloys for biomedical applications. 

Equipments: 
  • Rolling Mill: F.lli Cavallin M.2200 Plate-Thread Rolling Mill,  15 mm  to 0.1 mm thickness
  • Hydrolic Press:  30 tons
  • Melting and Casting Unit: Linn, High Frequency Melting & Casting Unit, Vacutherm-3.3-Titan
  • Atmosphere controlled tube furnaces for heat treatment and sintering

  • Production and Fatigue Behavior Characterization of Ti-6Al-4V Foams via Cold Isostatic pressing (2010-2012) METU – BAP Project.
  • Production and Characterization of  TiNi and Ti-6Al-4V alloy via Powder Metallurgy (2008-2010) The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).
