General Information: 

In Surface Science Research Laboratory (SSRL), the research is concentrated on production and characterization of micron-and nanoscale inorganic and metallic structures to be integrated into micro-electronic, optical and mechanical systems, solar cells and thermoelectric modules.

Equipments: 
  • Computer controlled ferro electric tester (Radiant), mercury probe :  for ferroelectric characterization
  •  Nikon SM2 optiical microscope
  • Controlled atmosphere tube furnace (Alser ): for heat treatment under controlled atmosphere
  • Various heat treatment furnaces and  incubators
  • Keithley 740 scanning thermometer ,  Keithley 238 high current source, Keithley 182 sensitive digital voltmeter, Keithley 2182 nanovoltmeter, LakeShore 336 temperature control unit, Jandel universal 4 point measurement system: for electrical characterization
  • Various other materials chemistry tools (spin coaters, tip/bath sonicators,  ultrasonic spray coaters, ultrapure DI water generator, pH meters, vacuum furnace, magnetic stirrers, centrifuges, rotary evaporator)
  • Microwave oven (Milestone Roto-Synth)
  • High pressure reactor (Amar Equipments lab.): for nanoparticle production
  • 4 zone belt furnace (Dyesol). Lamination unit (Dyesol), substrate cleaning system (Dyesol): for the production of dye sensitized solar cells.
  • 3-ball mill (Fritsch), 3 roll mill (Exakt) for the homogenization of nanoparticles and pastes
  • Sputtering unit (Baltec): for conductive coatings
  • Thermoelectric measurement system: for thermoelectric characterization.
