The Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. preferably in Materials Science and Engineering or a closely related discipline. Postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred.

METU offers strong research support and access to extensive and modern facilities. The Department is characterized by a broad and dynamic research culture that integrates both fundamental and applied studies. We welcome applications from highly qualified candidates in all areas of materials science and engineering, with particular interest in:

• Computational Materials Science and Engineering
• Mechanical Behavior of Materials
• Extractive Metallurgy

Candidates should demonstrate:

• A strong record of research accomplishments and publications
• Proven experience/potential in mentoring graduate students
• The ability to develop and lead innovative research and educational programs

Successful candidates will be expected to secure external funding and establish a robust sponsored-research program, conduct independent, cutting-edge research, and teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
